As a result, Julie immediately found herself involved in her future and health amidst the disease that she didn’t think would take over her future. With three young children, her family attempted to create lasting memories while also dealing with the damaging effects of early medication. They concealed her disease for four years, fearing that her children would be stigmatized and discriminated against in the early stages of the disease. Her diagnosis initiated a path of activism, faith, and optimism despite her life’s misery. Now, Julie promotes increased healthcare quality for women via the personal narratives and thoughts on life.
